General Tutoring

Concept/Goals of SciFi Buddies For General Tutoring:

• Along with science fair mentoring, we do general tutoring for students elementary, middle, and high school students
• We do tutoring year around, and especially focus on it during our science fair off-season
  
• As many of our SciFi Buddies members are double majoring and minoring across STEM and non-STEM subjects, we can help with a wide variety of courses ranging from the sciences, to math, to english, to history, and etc
• Connect SMU students with the broader community, to help all students and schools, especially including those students in underserved communities.

Example:

• A student majoring in math would be matched with a middle schooler doing a needing help throughout the semester with his Algebra coursework/homework
  
• Student and mentor would meet periodically (virtually)
  
• Student can also come to our tutoring "office hours" where there will be multiple different SciFi Buddies members available to help, if occasional tutoring is needed for other subjects as well
