Hi there ! My name is Azeez, and I am currently a sophomore majoring in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Political Science. Having done science fair for many years throughout middle/high school, I'm really enthusiastic about helping other students who are currently doing such research. A fun fact about me is that I am working as an undergrad research assistant in a computational chemistry lab and have a black belt in MMA !

Hi! My name is Rachael and I’m a Biochemistry major. Science fairs weren’t as big in my high school, but I hope to change that image because I always had a great time working on science projects. I wish I had a mentor to work with to make the process easier. I look forward to helping other students on their project, learning and having fun as we go along!

Sci-Fi buddies also allows me to be a part of various research projects and expand my knowledge on various topics. I am interested in neuroscience, psychology, and physiology. Hey there! My name is Hayden Mant, and I am currently a sophomore majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Math. I’ve been a lifeguard for two and a half years now, and I joined Sci-Fi Buddies because I’ve always been fascinated by everything science, and I fully believe that there is always something new you can learn when working with others. So, this gives me the perfect opportunity to both do what I love and help out those younger than myself, learning something new and fascinating every day!

I joined SciFi Buddies because I enjoy mentoring and wanted to be a resource to students in the Dallas area who may want some extra help with their science fair projects. I have previously conducted behavioral psychology research experiments about the relationship between depression and self-efficacy and hope to continue further analyzing the links between self-efficacy, anxiety, and success levels of college students. A fun fact about me is that I speak 5 languages !

" Hey, my name is Jordan and I am currently a freshman majoring in psychology. I joined SciFi Buddies because it represents a great opportunity to work with future scientists, and I get to help people reach their goals. In the process of mentoring students in science, I get to work on understanding more aspects of the field also. I did complete a large research project I had developed over a year under the mentorship of a practicing psychologist. In it, I discussed the major problem of adolescent depression and explained a few treatments that are proven to reduce the effects of adolescent depression. Additionally, I am eager to advance my research in various areas of biopsychology, combining the study of psychology with the brain, the heart, and the endocrine system. I am extremely interested in more forms of psychology, focusing on abnormal, developmental, social, health, and forensic psychology. Further research interests involve neuroscience, biology, chemistry, and genetics. A fun fact about me is that I graduated high school with a diploma and an associate degree, and I also really enjoy spending time with my friends.

Hello! My name is Gabriella White and I am a junior at SMU studying biology and environmental anthropology. I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and am on the pre-dental track. I am especially interested in molecular and cell biology, anatomy, and organic chemistry. I work in a research lab studying specific proteins and their effects on ATPase in cancer cells treated with chemotherapy. In my free time I enjoy reading, watching SciFi movies, and playing with my cat, Tiger. I love all things science, so I am excited to meet you and help you in anyway I can!

Hello! My name is Aya and I am a sophomore majoring in Biology and minoring in Spanish. I am working with cancer cell cultures to learn more about the barriers of lung cancer, and why it continues to have the highest mortality rate. Using this information, my goal is to work toward overcoming these barriers. I am so excited to learn about various cool STEM projects, and to help students accomplish their goals in the field of science.
